    Sometimes I don’t have the brain power to think Sometimes I don’t have the brain power to think of a long, deep caption. Sometimes dealing with people all day really takes it out of me 😴 💤 ... anyone else an introverted extrovert? 🙋🏻‍♀️
    Today driving on my way to my workout I saw a sign Today driving on my way to my workout I saw a sign on the side of a building that said “happy but hungry”. HAPPY BUT HUNGRY. Wow, I love that. Sometimes I find myself feeling guilty for wanting more out of life. I LOVE my life. I am in my dream job in a beautiful city. My husband is amazing and I love the home we’ve built here together. We get to enjoy the beach on the weekends with our friends and try out some of the best restaurants in the world. We have the means to travel and most importantly get back to see our families relatively often. All this to say we are content with the blessings life has given us (most of which did not come without a lot of hard work). But, IT’S OKAY to be content and incredibly grateful for everything you have while still being eager to better your life and get to the next level. I think those sentiments are probably shared by anyone who has the inherent drive to be better and do bigger. It’s just engrained in us. So, today I am so incredibly happy. But don’t mistake my fulfillment for satisfaction. There is still so much to do.
    Raise your hand if you refuse to look at your scre Raise your hand if you refuse to look at your screen time number 🙋🏻‍♀️ In today’s world, much of our work (and life) unfortunately involves being in front of a screen for hours on end. Whether it be your phone, computer or TV... it’s important to take steps to protect ourselves from the deleterious effects. Did you know that this blue light also known as HEV light is leading to signs of advanced aging such as pigmentation and wrinkle formation? No thank you. So here are some things we can do daily to help protect our complexion: 1. Wear a tinted sunscreen: sunscreens containing iron oxides have been shown to protect against blue light. 2. Don’t skip your antioxidant: make sure you’re using a Vitamin C serum or similar antioxidant ( I have many favorites) to help mitigate free radical damage to the skin. 3. Lower your brightness and turn on the nighttime features: anything that reduces the amount of blue light your face will be exposed to will have a cumulative benefit. 4. Limit your phone use once you’ve removed your spf. I used to wash my face the second I got home and eagerly apply my PM skin care routine. Now I leave my spf on as long as possible and limit my device use once I’ve completed my nightly skin care. It will be interesting to see in the next decade what other “dangers” we might uncover. But for now skin damage is enough to peek my interest and make me a bit more aware of the time I spend in front of these little devils 👿 📱
    We chat a lot on here about working out and stayin We chat a lot on here about working out and staying active. 💪🏽 But what about diet?🥗 And by diet I mean the food I eat every day not following a restrictive plan where I can’t ever indulge. I have always been a pretty healthy eater. I come from a Greek family who loves fresh seafood and tons of vegetables so I grew up eating lots of delicious, healthy meals. Of course I have a sweet tooth and I believe everything in moderation. 3 years ago I stopped eating meat and try to limit my dairy and eggs as much as possible. In addition to a mostly plant-based diet I also follow time restricted eating (sometimes referred to as intermittent fasting). Most days I finish dinner at about 8 pm and don’t eat again until lunch around noon the next day. This creates about a 14-16 hour fasting window each day. Eating in this manner has been shown to improve insulin sensitivity, energy levels and promote healthy weight management. Although I love breakfast foods, I was never hungry right when I woke up so it was a pretty easy transition for me to just wait a couple of extra hours until lunch. Even on days when I workout in the morning it really isn’t that difficult and I feel like I’m much more productive.     3 years ago, almost exactly, I had just passed the 3 years ago, almost exactly, I had just passed the PANCE after graduating PA school the month prior. I was awaiting credentialing at my very first big girl job and maneuvering through the state licensing for the first time. It was overwhelming to say the least.
